The Danish port of Esbjerg is the starting point of this discovery trip to the most northerly region of the Wadden Sea. Under expert guidance of employees of the Fisheries and Maritime Museum, the students experience the mudflats of Esbjerg, explore mussel beds, discover the underwater world while emptying fish traps and take a close look at creatures in the water laboratory. On a stroll along the aquariums and through the exhibition the pupils not only dive into the habitats of the North Sea, but also into the history of seafaring and fishing.
Seals can be observed closely in the large outdoor pool and a trip to the nearby island Fanø, a fishing boat tour or a visit to the Amber Museum can set further priorities. The game and Sports activities around the youth hostel round off the leisure program.
