In the middle of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site and National Park of Schleswig-Holstein, the pupils focus on the causes and consequences of climate change for the Wadden Sea ecosystem and for the people living at the coast. They explore the flora and fauna of the Wadden Sea, get insights into the life on a Hallig island and deal with issues of climate justice, alternative forms of energy and coastal defence strategies.
A special learning experience constitutes the "climate friendly self-catering": The pupils prepare their own meals according to climate-friendly recipes and learn how climate protection can start in the kitchen.
