Great nature experience and sustainable learning are guaranteed on a school trip to Westerhever. The eco-certified group accommodation “Alte Schule” is an ideal base for exploring the nearby salt marshes, tidal flats and marsh areas. The educational program - provided by Schutzstation Wattenmeer - was developed specifically according to the criteria of education for sustainability: Participatory learning, critical reflection, a variety of methods and different perspectives further the pupils’ competences. With a football field, theatre stage, fireplace, slackline, climbing trees and more the accommodation’s surroundings offer great recreational opportunities. The large sandbank off the coast of Westerhever invites to beachcombing and swimming.
